Peach Crumble Recipe
A peach crumble is the ultimate comfort dessert that brings together the luscious sweetness of fresh peaches and the irresistible crunch of a buttery topping.
Equipment
- Baking Dish
- Mixing bowls
- Pastry Cutter (or fingertips)
Ingredients
Peach Filling
- 6 Fresh Peaches ripe but firm
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
Crumble Topping
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
- 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter cold, cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Peach Filling: Blanch peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds, then transfer to an ice bath to loosen the skin. Peel, pit, and slice them into even wedges.
- Combine peach slices with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl. Gently toss until the peaches are evenly coated.
- Spread the peach mixture evenly into a greased baking dish, ensuring an even layer.
- Make the Crumble Topping: In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, and salt. Add a touch of cinnamon for extra flavor (optional).
- Add cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Evenly distribute the crumble topping over the peach mixture, ensuring full coverage without packing it down.
- Bake the Crumble: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 35–45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly around the edges.
- Allow the crumble to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or custard. Garnish with fresh mint or a dusting of cinnamon for an extra touch.
