- 4 cups fresh corn kernels or frozen/canned, see notes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

- 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
- 1 clove minced garlic (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (optional, like parsley, chives or thyme)
Instructions
- If using fresh corn, remove the kernels from the cobs using a sharp knife or specialized tool. For frozen corn, ensure it is thawed and dried, for canned corn, make sure to drain well.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Ensure the skillet heats evenly.
- If using, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened and fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Add the corn kernels to the skillet and stir to coat them evenly with the butter.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the corn is tender and slightly browned, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Monitor closely to avoid overcooking.
- Finally, stir in fresh herbs just before serving. Serve immediately for the best flavor.
Notes
For best results use fresh corn, frozen corn can be used but must be thawed and dried before use, canned corn should be well drained. Consider adding extra seasonings if using canned corn. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper frying.
