This 3 ingredient biscuit recipe is incredibly simple and requires just three common items. These biscuits are soft, fluffy, and perfect for any meal. Moreover, they're ready in under 30 minutes.
Equipment
- Baking Sheet
- Parchment Paper
- Large Bowl
- Pastry Cutter (or fingers)
- Biscuit Cutter (2-inch)
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour fresh
- 1 cup heavy cream cold
- 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter cut into small cubes (1 stick)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour and cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Slowly add the heavy cream and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a ¾-inch thick circle.
- Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as ovens can vary.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite toppings such as butter, jam, or honey.
Notes
For best results, keep your butter and heavy cream as cold as possible. Don't overmix the dough to avoid tough biscuits. Handle the dough gently to maintain a light texture.
